Menopause & Perimenopause
Why does nobody warn us?
I’ve been there with the brain fog, the emotions that seem to arrive from nowhere, and feeling like a stranger in your own body. All the while wondering why nobody seems to really talk about this.
Perimenopause and menopause can be a profound transition physically, emotionally, and in terms of identity. For many women it surfaces old wounds, reshapes relationships, and alters the version of yourself you'd spent years building. That's a lot to carry on your own!
Therapy during this time isn't about fixing you. It's about having a space that's genuinely yours where you can make sense of what's changing and find your way forwards again.
Some of what we might explore:
Your experience of menopause is yours alone, but some themes come up again and again:
Anxiety, rage, or low mood that feels disproportionate
Shifting identity
Strained relationships
Loss of confidence
Sleep disruption
The pressure to keep performing
There's no expectation here that you should be coping better, or that this should feel easier than it does. Whatever you're bringing, it's worth exploring.
