Mel Walters, MSc

Counsellor | ADHD Coach

I bring both clinical training and lived experience to my counselling work, and after years of supporting people toward better wellbeing, I've developed a depth of understanding that I draw on for every client I work with.

I have a particular passion for working with neurodivergent individuals, including those with Autism and ADHD. My counselling room is designed with this in mind; it’s sensory-friendly, with fidgets and blankets available so you can feel comfortable and at ease from the moment you arrive.

I also understand first-hand how unsettling major life events and transitions can be, and I bring that personal understanding into the room alongside my professional experience.

I work with:

  • Depression

  • Anxiety

  • Mental health and neurodivergence

  • Stress

  • Identity and self-understanding

  • Relationships

  • Life transitions — including moving schools, career changes, and menopause

Alongside counselling, I offer specialist ADHD Coaching for individuals who want practical support to overcome barriers and reach their full potential.

My qualifications include the following:

  • Masters in Counselling (BACP Registered Member)

  • BA Hons Counselling and Psychology

  • Postgraduate Diploma in Education Mental Health

  • ASIST Suicide Prevention

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Level 1

  • Solution Focused Therapy Level 2

  • Social Pedagogy

  • Certificate in Understanding Autism Level 2

  • Counselling People in Crisis Remotely Level 2
